Verdot Contracting is an in-house contracting firm specializing in the development of build-to-rent, multifamily and other residential product types nationwide. Projects
Amaré Santa Fe
A master development of a 183-unit single family home community for rent in Santa Fe, NM. It is centrally located near medical employers as well as the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Construction began in October 2024 with delivery of the first units by January 2026.
Amaré Rio Rancho
This development of a 128-unit single family home community for rent will be in Rio Rancho, NM. It is near a growing employment area, a hospital, restaurants, and shopping. Construction begins in June 2025 with delivery of the first products by November 2026.
Amaré Las Soleras
This development of a 106-unit single family home community for rent in Santa Fe, NM will be centrally located near medical employers as well as the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Construction begins in Q2 2026.

Jeff King
Division President – Verdot Contracting
Jeff King is the President of the Construction and Development Division of Verdot Capital, bringing close to 30 years of experience in residential and commercial construction.
Jeff has a foundation in architecture from Arizona State University, graduating with a degree in construction management and engineering (BS Construction Management & Engineering). His career spans 7 years in commercial construction and 21 years in residential construction, offering a wealth of experience in both sectors.
His expertise extends across various facets of the building industry, including executive management, P&L responsibility, land acquisition, land development, community planning, architecture, building construction, purchasing, sales, and warranty services.

Mark Asplund
Sr. Project Manager, Construction
Mark Asplund is Verdot Contracting’s Senior Project Manager, responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring that they meet all scope, timeline, and budget requirements.
Mark brings more than 40 years of experience to the residential and commercial construction industry, and holds both residential and commercial contracting licenses in New Mexico. Mark has collaborated with various builders on projects ranging from single-family homes, to townhomes, apartments, condominiums, and multi-family complexes. Mark takes pride in fostering strong, professional relationships with vendors, clients, and municipalities across the regions he serves.

Kathy Liu
Accounting
Kathy Liu is responsible for overseeing accounting and financial reporting procedures and managing account transactions, budgets, and loan activities.
Kathy is a CPA with 16+ years of experience in real estate finance, accounting, and project management. Specializing in financial oversight, cash-flow management, and structuring effective financial frameworks, she excels at optimizing performance and driving growth for developers and investors. With expertise in construction and development finance, Kathy has managed budgeting, reporting, and compliance for multimillion-dollar projects, streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
